An Early-Season Heritage Favourite
Early Transparent Gage is a traditional European gage variety that has been grown for well over a century. Valued for its exceptionally early harvest, it produces attractive pale green to yellow fruits with almost translucent skin, giving rise to its distinctive name.
The fruit has the rich, honeyed sweetness for which gages are famous, with juicy flesh and excellent flavour. Ripening earlier than many other gage varieties, it extends the fruit season and provides delicious dessert fruit when few other plums are ready to harvest.
The tree produces beautiful white blossom in spring before developing reliable crops of high-quality fruit in mid to late summer. Ideal for eating fresh from the tree, the fruit is also excellent for desserts, jams, and preserves.
Please Note:
The photographs show a typical example of the stone fruit tree you will receive from our nursery, other items in the photographs such as spade, flowers, and fencing etc are there for scale only and not included.
As these are living plants, minor variations in shape and branching are natural.
